SEMI-FINALS :: GERMANY VS ITALY 1-2
It's like the 2006 World Cup all over again. Germany vs. Italy in the semis. And just like six years ago, Italy triumph over the much-fancied Germans. The victory extends Italy’s unbeaten record against Germany in competitive games to eight matches. Balotelli's first-half brace was enough to book a showdown with champions Spain on Sunday. The match will take place in Kiev, Ukraine.

Buffon was in his best form, making save after save. Once again, he proved why he is one of the best goalkeeper captains in the world. The Italians played fantastically, no doubt about it.

Mesut Özil scored a penalty in the 92nd minute but it was too little, too late. They were successful throughout the tournament yet in the end, they left with broken hearts.

Two of my favourite teams are now in the final. They ended in a draw during group round. It could be anybody's game. May the best team wins!

Congratulations La Roja!!!

Like Gianluigi Buffon said, Joe Hart has the potential to become the best goalkeeper in the world. He definitely shone in his first major international tournament.

Joe deserves a pat on the back for making great saves in the quarter-finals against Italy. And I've never seen a goalie that cheery during penalty shootout!

Here are my predictions for the semi-finals~

Portugal vs Spain - Spain Win

Germany vs Italy - Italy Win

Just like old times! Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen & Michael Schumacher on the podium :)

2012 European Grand Prix

2005 French Grand Prix

It wasn't easy but in the end, Italy gains a spot in the semi-finals! FORZA ITALIA!!!

A header plus a penalty makes a brace! Xabi Alonso celebrated his 100th cap for his country in the best way possible.

Spain marches into the semis with their first win against France in a competitive game :)

QUARTER-FINALS :: GERMANY VS GREECE 4-2

The only goal in the first half was scored by Philipp Lahm. His fifth international goal in 90 caps. He has been pretty impressive in the tournament so far. Michael Ballack should be proud.

Nobody expected the second half to be a goalfest. Georgios Samaras equalized for Greece in the 55th minute. But their joy was short-lived as Sami Khedira restored Germany's lead six minutes later. Veteran striker
Miroslav Klose's header and a Marco Reus thunderbolt sealed the victory. Indeed the score-line could have been bigger.

Greece grabbed a late consolation i
n the 89th minute through a penalty.

The Germans looking unstoppable at the moment, will face either Italy or England in the semis.

GO FOR GOLD! - KYLE PATRICK

Let’s make some history tonight
The child inside is wild
Let’s make this moment come to life
The time is on our side

Don’t know what’s up ahead
It’s only high and low
Picture it in your head
Nothing’s impossible

We’re gonna make it now
We’re gonna leave our mark
Let’s take a shot in the dark

Ready set Go For Gold!
Chasing every heartbeat
We can feel it starting
Ready set Go For Gold!
Chase it ‘til we own it
Living in the moment
Ready set Go For Gold! tonight
Ready set Go For Gold! tonight

Even if we fall and make mistakes
We live, we learn, we change
Got to keep on going everyday
And it will be worth the wait

Don’t know what’s up ahead
It’s only high and low
Picture it in your head
Nothing’s impossible

We’re gonna make it now
We’re gonna leave our mark
Let’s take a shot in the dark

Ready set Go For Gold!
Chasing every heartbeat
We can feel it starting
Ready set Go For Gold!
Chase it ‘til we own it
Living in the moment
Ready set Go For Gold! tonight
Ready set Go For Gold! tonight

Ready set Go For Gold!
Chasing every heartbeat
We can feel it starting
Ready set Go For Gold!
Chase it ‘til we own it
Living in the moment
Ready set Go For Gold! tonight
Ready set Go For Gold! tonight
Ready set Go For Gold! tonight

Fernando Torres has finally regained his touch! He scored a brace as Spain defeated the Republic of Ireland 4-0 in their Group C clash. The two other goals were contributed by David Silva & Cesc Fabregas.

The Irish became the first team to be eliminated.

Andriy Shevchenko scored a brace for Ukraine in the first match. Hopefully he will shine again!

GROUP B :: GERMANY VS NETHERLANDS 2-1

This is a match I'd love to watch again. Expect nothing less than the best from these two teams. But the fact that the Dutch have now lost their first two group games is a bit of a shocker.

Coach Joachim Loew's doing an excellent job with the German team. By the look of things, they are definitely the team to beat! Mario Gomez scored two brilliant goals in the 24th and 38th minutes. Netherlands seemed so hopeless after that, wasting lots of scoring opportunities. Maarten Stekelenburg & Manuel Neuer both performed very well.

They fought hard in the second half and finally Robin Van Persie gets a goal.

The Dutch is on the brink of an early exit. They have no choice but to beat Portugal in the next match. It's gonna be interesting!

GROUP A :: POLAND VS GREECE 1-1

And the show begins with a bang in Warsaw! An exciting opening match with Poland completely dominating the first half. Robert Lewandowski scored the first goal of the tournament in the 17th minute with a superb header. Poland might be the lowest-ranked team but it doesn't seem that way. To me, they played exceptionally well.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos was shown a red card just before half-time, reducing the Greeks to 10 men. However they went on to score an equaliser in the 51st minute. Thanks to substitute Dimitris Salpingidis.

The second red card was shown to Polish goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny. Just when we thought there's no chance Przemyslaw Tyton could save Greek captain Giorgos Karagounis' penalty... He did, and became hero of the day!

In the final minutes, both teams tried hard to score another goal but to no avail. For now, they'll have to settle for a point each.

Just two more days to go! Are you guys ready??
